History
Nitroglycerin was first discoverd by the Italian chemist Ascanio Sobrero. First he discovered Nitroglycerinis which was made by combing Glyceryl and Nitric Acid, then he discovered Nitroglycerin by adding Sulfuric Acid to that recipe. In addition to its explosive qualities Ascanio also noted that it relieved headaches. A few years later Alfred Nobel expiremented with Nitroglycerin trying to use it as an explosive. After some terrible explosions the government banned expirementation of Nitroglycerin in Stockholm. Alfred then moved his expirements to a Barge in Sweden. He started to produce Nitrogycerin in the masses, still searching for a way to make it into a safe explosive. When he mixed Nitroglycerin with kieselguhr (A clay) he discovered it was less reactive, could be styled to fit into drill holes, and was still explosive. He called this Dynamite. After WWI Alfred didn't want to be remembered soley for his creation of Dynamite, so he put money towards a Nobel prize in peace, science, and medicine.
